Hi fellow operators.
Rookie question.
So my little cheap 30amp plasma seems to be causing a lot of issues with the Geco 540 controller (HF start) So I bought a UNIMIG Cut 80.
I found some basic settings and can cut 1.6mm to 6mm and 10mm without too much issue but when I got to 16mm I was having issues with angled cuts and distorting tips. Most of my issues are from setting. With a heap of different settings charts on the net what would be the go to?
Here is a little job a did for a friend.
Thanks in advance.

What settings are you using? What air pressure are you using? What consumables and size cutting tip are you using? What is your cut height setting? The more settings, etc you can post the better more it will help

Re: New UNIMIG Cut 80 cutting settings help
I have been getting some guidance from the hypertherm settings. But they don’t list amps.
The machine came with a Sure Cut torch,
Using 1mm tips, (probably the current range listed on the pack would be a hint)
See below some of the settings, I manually up the feed speed in Mach3 if I feel it needs it.

Try a 2" square with a 1" hole as a test piece.
I have when developing settings, and use a vibra pen to etch the settings on each sample
piece when done.

Re: New UNIMIG Cut 80 cutting settings help
I've been running the Unimig Razor Cut 45 for 2 years now, but decided to switch to another brand, due to duty cycle issues.
I can give you a copy of my cut chart, but not sure how helpful they will be, because you can run higher amps that what I was using.
I also have a brand new Unimig machine torch that I never got around to installing, so it's no longer needed as my new machine came with a machine torch.
Feel free to PM me if you're interested in my cut chart or machine torch, thanks.
regards
