Hello members, I just wanted to say I'm going to try and cut my first 20" by 96" cut tomorrow, checked out table today and my limits are close so may need to think outside the box don't want to run past the limit. I'll post a vid tomorrow I'm excited. Also have a 48" by 96 inch cut on the same job, wow not much room for error.
Homemade table,
Hypertherm 65 Machine torch
Mach 3
Sheet cam
Wish me luck,
96 Inch cuts

Do a dry run with the plaz off to make sure your registration is correct. If you need extra room to allow for a lead in or an over cut just butt some scrap up to that section.

I don't recall the exact configuration of your table. Perhaps post some details with photos. If the part is too long for your table, you can always "index" the part and do it in two operations. This is a common practice with some of the 4x4 table owners for cutting longer parts.Welder Kenny wrote: Mon Jan 13, 2025 8:29 pm Hello members, I just wanted to say I'm going to try and cut my first 20" by 96" cut tomorrow, checked out table today and my limits are close so may need to think outside the box don't want to run past the limit. Also - to Steve's point - perhaps attach a sharpie pen holder to your torch head and draw the part first to make sure everything will fit. Depending on the width of the part, another option might be to lay the part out diagonally on the sheet of material to gain that additional needed material length.

Re: 96 Inch cuts
More important, find out if your compressor can keep up with a cut that long. If you don't have a LOT of air in reserve, the torch will probably shut off mid cut when the plasma cutter is starving for air.

Re: 96 Inch cuts
Highly unlikely that he will run out of air. Most decent sized compressors have an output rating that will most certainly exceed the cfm requirement of his Hypertherm plasma cutter.

Re: 96 Inch cuts
Guys, I took some video but can't figure out how to upload it? it keeps telling me the file is too big. anyway, I made the cuts, I only moved off my limits by .250 and then I had just enough travel. next I need to cut 2 more pieces of 10ga, 48 x 96 very neat stuff.
Homemade table,
sheet cam
Mach 3
Hypertherm PM65
I used fine cut tips at 40 amps and 150 IMP.

Kenny - an easy way to share your video here is to upload it to Youtube and then just copy/paste the link to your post.Welder Kenny wrote: Tue Jan 14, 2025 8:10 pm Guys, I took some video but can't figure out how to upload it? it keeps telling me the file is too big. anyway, I made the cuts, I only moved off my limits by .250 and then I had just enough travel. next I need to cut 2 more pieces of 10ga, 48 x 96 very neat stuff.
