Giving back-Grapple Bucket DXF Design
I got a 42" file from SkidRoe off skidsteerfourm.com. Then I used his concept to make a 60" bucket. So here it is..

Nice. Do you happen to have the drawing for the standard skid steer attachment plate?

Dbqhokey05: Nice bucket!
Stout: As far as I know there are no standard attachment plates. They ate different on different size of Bobcats, one Belle is almost as one of Bobcats but not exactly. My Case is completely different from Bobcats type.
Keith/beefy: For speed up your excavation processes buy a rototilt, one of the things that make it possible to both rotate and tilt your bucket. When you have become familiar with the use of it you will never use an excavator without one!
The first hit when I searched youtube for rototilt:

Re: Giving back-Grapple Bucket
Hey Stridis,
you're right about the rototilt, but in my industry of tight access excavation (translate that to lots of domestic work where there's not as much money, or knowledge of excavation) there seems to be little appreciation or understanding of excavation tasks.
Many operators don't get attachments because it's difficult to recoup the investment. Too many customers think only of the hourly rate, and when you mention paying a bit more for an attachment that will save them money by getting the job done quicker or better or whatever, they think you are just trying to get more cash out of them. I've often tried to explain in detail about doing the job with and without a certain gizmo but most don't seem interested. It's incredibly frustrating knowing intimately what various attachments can do for the job but not being able to get that message across.
My basic grab for instance, well instead of me explaining go to my home built website www.excavationtech.com.au (so don't laugh) and look at the page on the grab. There's a lot of on-the-job advantages but most times the customer doesn't seem to bat an eyelid. I might have shortened the job time considerably, thereby saving the customer money, and losing me money, but it doesn't seem to get noticed. I think in industry, where workers are involved with the bigger machinery day in day out, they understand the benefits of things like rototilts, etc, and will happily compensate the operator for his extra investment.
My biggest mistake was not starting out with at least a 5 ton excavator, but that's another story.

Re: Giving back-Grapple Bucket
Nice looking bucket, but I would agree about the blade on front being more of a hinderance than help. It would make it very difficult to just "grab" your vegetation (could be wrong, its been known to happen!). I have operated a JD 260 skidder with grapple bucket for WAY too many years now (about 27-28). My question would be more in the material used. You replied to this question with 1/4", and I feel this is way too light. My grapple is made of 1/2" plate, and I have managed to bend and break the tines on it. It could be that I use mine in a VERY aggressive manner, but still the same, it was meant to be used hard, and in harsh environments. Of course, with that being said... My grapple has far less quantity of bottom "teeth" as well, so the 1/4" may suffice....
No matter the outcome, if it works for you, that's all that matters. It looks like an awesome build!!!! Great job, and thanks for sharing it with us.

Thanks for the design! I will be cutting mine out in a couple weeks. What size bore and stroke hydraulic cyclinder did you end up using?

Re: Giving back-Grapple Bucket DXF Design
Is there someone that could convert the corel file to dxf, I use Fusion 360 and cannot open a cdr file. Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Giving back-Grapple Bucket DXF Design
Looks like the OP posted both a cdr and dxf of the same design. Check the original post again. Files have different names but appear to be the same design.

Re: Giving back-Grapple Bucket DXF Design
Gotcha I was thinking the DXF was the common back plate and the other one was the grapple parts. thanks!
