Mirrored Image

Post by gdj966 »

Any help would be Greatly Appreciated. I'm running candcnc bladerunner2 sheetcam & mach3. When I load the g code into Mach3 everything looks good. (same in sheetcam & my CAD programs) When I run the file it cuts out the file Mirrored & upside down. So basically I'ts cutting out the backside instead of face up. Again Any Help would be Greatly Appreciated..
Thank You..

It seems like I had this problem a long time ago on my CNC router machine. If I remember right (and I may not) the problem was a configuration problem between my table layout and my drawing program. I think it had something to do with where the 0,0 point was on the table versus where it was in the drawing program. Just not real sure anymore. Anyway, compare your drawing program layout versus your machine layout.

Your axis motors are running backwards to the correct direction as defined as to how MACH3 expects them to run. You can rewire them for correct direction OR REconfig the axis in setup by changing the active HIGH active LOW setting. that will reverse the direction of the motors.

JUST a thought, (:-) TP

Did this just start happening?
I would search for a setting in the software that says"reverse pattern" or "cut mirrored image" that got checked accidentally.
I actually would like this option sometimes.!!

Haha well now I feel a little lazy for not reading the post directly below mine! Sorry guys for the duplicate posts. I have been doing a lot of research but have not had the chance to check anything as of yet. Most of the responses seem to be to switch the direction of the x-axis motors and see if that fixes the issue. I've also seen where the CAM software and the CNC software have different ideas as to how the table is set up, where 0,0 is and so on. I will let you know as to what I find and get back with you. I too recently moved my machine and wonder if I did not connect the motors back the way they should be.

Thank you all for your responses. This machine is actually new, Bought it about a year ago & just got around to setting it up. So Yes every image I try to cut is mirrored and turned 180 I have tried running some sign torch files and they cut the same. This is my first time using Mach3 & sheetcam. My other machine & router both use Desk CNC No THC. Files load and cut good with both machines. I'm thinking it has to be something in Mach3 that is causing this.. I appreciate ALL your responses and will check out the settings this weekend.
Again thank you ALL.

You do have it, assuming you're using Sheetcam. There's check boxes toward the lower right, that say "Mirror X" and "Mirror Y".

one other thing you need to check when using a table for both plasma and routing. If you use the home function that move the axis to their home position remember routers home up and plasma home down.
