Rounded Corners

Post by grindergary »

I am having trouble with corners being rounded off when cutting. I am cutting rectangles 6" x 12" 16 ga plate with 45 amp fine cut. Running book values.
I have cut alot of parts for signs and misc parts but have nor had this occur before.

Most parts come out almost dross free and look very nice.

The start point is at one corner and will end up square. The other 3 will get rounded. I have not changed anything on the machine at all. Checked for slack in the machine and everything seems right.

Mach is set to motion mode - constant velocity
distance mode - absolute
IJ Mode - Inc.

When I am cutting thicker material, there is no issue with corners.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Thanks

I checked it out but my problem is more with acceleration and velocity. I turned them down because my gantry was racking. I fixed that and reset the settings and made a big difference.

Thanks

Gary I tried these settings in mach/general, it helped no end on my machine.
It was just inside offset cuts I had problems on corners though, outside offset was fine.

SeanP,
I tied your settings and they work great for those inside corners.

My problem now is to clean up the drawings as it seems the torch stops at every node in a complex cut.

Thanks

hey,Gary

do you have corel draw ? if so there is a plug in called dxf pro tool it eliminates the extra nodes automatically'.

you can try it for free for 30 days no catches.

http://www.coreldrawtools.com/professional/

its works great.
