I use my fine tips for 1/4 in to 24 ga copper as a rule you don't go past 40 amps or you will burn tips. The fine tips work great for just about all cutting.

I cut 18 ga CRS almost exclusively and use the fine cuts with a powermax 1000 (no torch height control) with good results set at about 30 amps. I'm curious, what's a 20 amp drag tip?Torchmate wrote:14 gauge is the thinnest I have used but I can use a 20 amp drag tip and set the kerf to a thin line and it makes a thin cut works well with thin metals
