Star pattern angles

I'm just starting up my new CNC plasma cutter and need a little help. I have already cut several files successfully but am having trouble with stars. The inside angles are rounded instead of pointed. Can't find any problems in the drawing in CorelDraw or SheetCam. Any suggestions?

I think you want to check the box that says Loop Sharp Corners in Sheetcam when you set up your tool path.

could be constant velocity (CV) settings, try cutting a star with CV turned off to see if that's the problem, if so you may need to tweak the CV vs acceleration settings.

You could try CV "on" but turn off the CV options. Also set your Mach 3 "lines look ahead" to 200 . It may help.

I checked the Loop Sharp Corners in Sheetcam and turned the CV on (was off) and I am now cutting perfect stars. Still need to tweek settings to reduce dross. Thanks everyone.

Mike 1948, or anyone else where is the CV setting and Mach's look ahead? I am running Mach and sheetcam and am interested in finding this thanks

Sorry to butt in, but if you want sharper corners, wouldn't you want to UNcheck 'loop sharp corners'? I've never understood that setting. My sheetcam looks slightly different than the screenshots though. I don't recall a checkbox, just a value (setup came with loop sharp corners value set to .04 i think
