cutting wear plate and settings

Post by trussell welding service »

I have a customer wanting to cut AR 400, 500 and hardox plate. Should I use stainless settings or does this cut close enough to mild steel that I can just tweak mils steel settings?

I don't change anything cutting AR400 and AR500 compared to mild steel. I've cut a lot of 1/4 and some 3/8.

Cut AR plate at the same specs as mild steel....it will cut just fine.

Thanks, I was getting mixed reviews. I will cut with the same settings as MS. I was wondering because the grain structure of AR was different than MS. Thanks again
