This is my file for making a g clamp with 5mm mild steel and cheap vevor 12 ton porter power. It's very handy for pressing in pins and bushes or bending metal which is the primary reason I made and sold them. We use the clamps for shaping the metal reinforcements on lowrider frames, traditionally hammers and standard g clamps were used with varied success.
The only downside to the design is its weight, after a full day of lugging and manipulating the clamp gets mighty heavy! My next step will be to hollow out the centre plates for lightness and hopefully still retain the rigidity. I have included the instructions when we sell them to customers but if anyone has questions please ask away
It's definitely worth while buying the foot operated air/hydraulic pump so you have 2 hands free. Also we have done plenty destructive testing so you can rest easy
The porter power is held on with a section of hollow bar that's bored out and threaded to suit, or alternatively most porter power kits come with a nut and that could be welded to a short section of pipe (just alter the hole size to suit)
If anyone alters or has ideas on improvements I would love to see them.
Thanks for looking
ALSO PLEASE CHECK THE SLOT AND TAB TOLERANCES, YOUR PLASMA MIGHT NEED BIGGER SPACING

Looks pretty cool but I have no idea what it does! Checked out your docx instructions in hopes of figuring it out before asking whats it for and looking like an idiot I am curious if you have a video of this being used

Looks like a c press using a porta power ram.

Yes it's just a stronger g clamp using a porter power
I didn't have any up to date pictures so this is when I was testing the prototype

Re: hydraulic g clamp, lowrider frames
Ah I see, should have been able to figure that out on my own...duh I think the "lowrider frames" in the title threw me off. Super useful looking tool! Thanks again for posting this!

One thing for sure having a CNC plasma table enables you to build your own custom tools. Moving from idea to drawing then cutting parts to using it on other projects.

That's pretty slick, many times in the past I could have used this. Thanks for sharing, will bookmark this for next time I need one
