Please explain in more detail what you want. I understand that you have a 12 3/4" OD pipe. What do you mean by a jig that wraps around the pipe? Is this a template (piece of paper, thin material, etc.) or what?? It would be best if you could make a hand drawn sketch, take a picture of it, and post the picture here so we can see exactly what you are after.

Also - how are you planning to cut the pipe? Saw, plasma cutter, or??

Thanks,
Daivd

I've used this before.

For a 90 degree angle, just use a piece of paper. Wrap around and line the edges up.

If you don't have access to the digital pipe fitter program, you can also do this with Fusion 360 by drawing your pipe with the miter cut and then using the Fusion 360 flat pattern tool. Once you have your initial pipe drawn, you can simply edit your sketch for the diameters and create your additional flat templates. Then export from Fusion 360 as dxf.

I'm not sure why when posting a link to a Youtube video, sometimes this site show the actual video at the post, and other times such as this one I had to screen shot the image along with the link? Perhap Admin could shed some light on this please.
Thanks,
David

I attached a pic or drawling. Using a cnc to cut the template out of 14 gauge metal then I’ll roll it and wrapping it around
The 12-3/4” pipe then use a handheld plasma cutter to cut the pipe.

What plasma torch and consumables are you using?
Will need the orifice offset if you're going to drag cut.
Shield diameters are 0.380", 0.430", 0.580

Mo - that's a good point. From the OP's original post, it was not really clear what he wanted to do - both Tom and myself had assumed that he simply wanted to cut off a pipe at a 45 degree angle for perhaps welding to a flat surface. From his drawing, it looks like he wants to "fish mouth" the male end to fit an "oval shaped" hole in the adjoining pipe. So in this case he would need a "cutting template" for both piece, for both 90 and 45 degrees - and for 3 different sizes of pipe -- if I am understanding what he wants.

tbnlc - as Mo mentioned - depending on your torch configuration you will need to scale the templates to take into account the size (OD) of the business end of your torch. I still have an old Thermal Dynamics PAX 2XT that I have often used for hand cutting thinner material (steel 11 ga. and thinner) using a template or guide. For that torch, the nozzle is about 1/4" od so I offset my cutting guide by about 1/8".

Also please let us know that we are understanding you correctly about what you intend to do and are asking for. The way I now understand your request, you want to fit a 12.75" OD pipe to another 12.75" OD pipe at angles of 45 degrees and 90 degrees. I have shown above the templates to do the 45 degree cuts for the 12.75" OD pipe.

For the smaller sizes you mention, it is not clear if you will be fitting 2.375" OD to 2.375" OD at 45 and 90 degrees, or do you intend to fit them to the larger 12.75" OD pipe at those angles. Same question for the 2.875" OD pipe you mention.

Since the cut profiles would scale with the pipe OD, I expect that you could take the dxf file I have posted above and scale it down to match any round pipe diameter you might be working with. There will be some variation in the cut profiles depending on specified pipe wall thickness. But if this is not super precision fitting (I assume there will be some hand grinding involved) then I think that scaling them would work fine.
