Fixture table fixtures

You guys with fixture tables, where are you getting your fixtures? I guess clamps too, but I’m more interested in Fixtures, stops, blocks and bolts. Right now I’m looking at Siegmund, build pro and Fireball and leaning towards fireball. 5/8”

Hey Scratch, saw your post and although i have no advice for you i too am interested in a fixture table. checked out the fireball table, never heard of them before. Look super nice but wow its pricey! For me it would only be personal use so I cant justify it.

Hi Scratch - I have purchased most of my "fixturing" from Strong Hand Tools. This includes clamps, spacers, blocks, angle blocks, and more. I have also made some of my own clamps using some of the large HF clamps and cutting of the end and welding on a pin to fit the 5/8" holes in my Rhino Cart tables.

Thanks, yeah I’ve looked at Tricktools.com. They sell Build Pro stuff Those look nice too. I may have questions for you. One that comes to mind is which of their ball lock bolts do you have? I’m wondering what their clamping range is? I have a 1/2” table and am wondering how thick and thin of fixtures they will tighten up to.

These are the ball lock bolts I have. My table is 5/8" thick. If it was 1/2" thick, then if I was using the same tooling that attaches to the table I would use a 1/8" washer/spacer under the head of the ball lock bolt if necessary.

Where did you get the black piece that the cut off clamp is attached to? Did you make it on a lathe?

Yes - it is a piece of 1 1/2" diameter round steel with a 5/8" diameter hole drilled in one end and a 5/8" pin welded into it. The other end is drilled/bored to a size large enough to accept the end of the clamp (once I cut off the end with an abrasive cutoff wheel). I think a made about 8 of these. I also made one with a 3/4" diameter pin that fits into the 3/4" hole in the center of my 1" thick welding table. That one has come in very handy as well.
