Hey I have this sign I want to cut with many of the details too small for the toolpath to go through, so instead of a continuous path, it creates seperate shapes, leaving the thinnest parts of the drawing uncut.
I'm wondering if I have to go back and do major edits on this vector, or is there a way to change some of the tool paths to only move in one direction and then stop cutting.
So when its going in between the teeth and smaller details it would only travel each line once, instead of coming back around.

Re: cuts too tight for toolpath
never used torchmate software
but in sheet am I would put some of the cuts on one layer and others on another layer
that way I would maybe set an offset for some cuts and not for others
maybe torchmate software allows the same to happen

What Robert said is a great idea but what would be even easier is to not use any kerf compensation at all, just cut it in the centerline. It's a sign not a mechanical part so the tolerances won't matter and it will cut just like you want it to.

Cutting with a plasma torch is like trying to sign a check with a can of spray paint. The kerf width of a plasma flame DEMANDS real estate. It cannot give you fine detail in tiny spaces. Your choices are to make the plaque larger, or offset the paths to make room for the cut paths inside of them, or use software that allows overcutting to avoid loss of detail.

I would pay good money to someone who invents a plasma flame with a .002" kerf width!
