Wood and steel mix coffee table

Post by TXTig »

Here's a tensegrity table I made recently. The top is cut from 14 gauge and welded to 11 gauge expanded metal, then powder coated. The supports are cut from 3/16" and powder coated. Wood is some black walnut stock I had that I was originally going to be made into gunstocks.

I do have a poor quality YouTube video on the construction although not much plasma cutting action. Not sure about adding redirect links but the channel name is ss2 metal creations.

I wonder if he rides a motorcycle with a busted helmet too? Respect for his fabrication skills, but REPLACE THOSE WORTHLESS GLOVES!

I wouldn't rest a cup of hot coffee on one. I don't care how tight those chains are. The table top will STILL be able to twist both clockwise and counterclockwise, even if only a little. Flexible cables and chains are NOT solid.
