Anyone fancy sharing your favorite path rules? they are a great feature of Sheetcam, it could be interesting to see what is being used.
I'll start off with mine;
One used the most would be this for holes, it was mentioned on the forum by someone else about using this method, it works well to cover different size holes using the one rule.
This one I use to slow down the feed as the flame crosses over the leadin as it tends to jump over leaving a tag stopping the part from dropping out (Powermax 45), you have to play about with the right area to catch that bit, works well for me at these settings on thicker material, 10mm upwards.
The idea with using 99.8% feedrate is so then the rule shows up a blue line.
Also using tangent leadins gives you that straight corner leadin (took me 18months before I sussed that one )

Re: Sheetcam path rules sharing
On a corner leadout using tangent as above, I'm now just using '3mm before end set feed to 40%' for mild steel over 10mm, no probs at all with the tag.

Re: Sheetcam path rules sharing
Had good results cutting 18mm holes in 10mm sheet using these rules for holes, my thinking is the slowdown on the inside corner just allows the arc to catchup as it turns into the circle, then the slowdown at the end also catches the tag.
I will post a pic tomorrow.
By the way, in the development version of sheetcam you can choose to start at centre of circle smaller than size entered,,,a great feature!

Re: Sheetcam path rules sharing
Oh and by the way I used duck oil on the 2 sheets again, just sprayed a film all over and let it dry off a bit, doesn't half help with the slag pile on pierces, suppose there must be some anti spatter spray that would do the same as well.
Brush on some tip dip on the shield and I had a trouble free 2 sheets of base plates cut up.

Hi Sean
No intention of Hi-Jacking your thread, but maybe along the same lines
Taking into account Hypertherms latest release "PM 45 XP" and its new ability of using a RS 485 connection
(which has been available on the larger machine for a while)
Can people out there who have used the CandCNC "DCC" feature that the RS 485 connection offers post their ideas and comments good or bad
sorry Sean, might have cut across your thought patterns regarding "Cut Rules"
