Help with 16 guage
Hello, I need some help with setting up to cut 16 gauge mild steel. I have Hypertherm PM 65 with 45a fine cut tips and a Proma THC MD+DV. The sign I'm trying to cut out is 9x12, the letter are about .6 tall. I set it at 120ipm 45 amps voltage 110 pierce height 0.8". It melts the middle of the letters away. http://www.plasmaspider.com/download/fi ... w&id=39435

Re: Help with 16 guage
Speed is very slow and height and volts are high compared to my settings which deliver great cuts on 16 gauge.

turn the voltage down to 65 on the thc and set the height to .07 then play with the speed. My settings have the cut speed at 3810 mm/min which is 150 ipm but I have it turned down to 80% of that (120 ipm) with good results

You should have the recommended settings in your manual, if not you can search the forum and I am pretty sure it is listed here already. You can also try Hypertherm's website which should have the settings as well.
